Vitamin C, most people know it is an essential vitamin and
powerful anti-oxidant that plays a large part in our bodies
metabolic process including tissue repair. Most people also know
the body cannot manufacture Vitamin C so it must be obtained
through an outside source. We also should know Vitamin C needs
to be taken on a daily basis. But what variety? There are
hundreds of brands to choose from and with different dosages.
When I was growing up, I wanted my Vitamin C from a product
called Tang. Why? Because astronauts drank it, and who didn’t
want to grow up to be an astronaut. So my mom bout us Tang.
Excellent choice she thought. The astronauts drink it and the
New York ad agencies promoted it on T.V. so that was our family
choice of Vitamin C. Now the F.D.A. will still tell you that
Tang is ok, a good, wholesome product. Most big kids have grown
up to become astronauts who drank it, and it has the F.D.A.’s
R.D.A. of 65mg per serving for your daily required amount. Cool.
Just the right amount to keep away scurvy. You remember reading
about scurvy. The European Sailors kept getting scurvy on their
voyages to the new lands until someone discovered that by
including citrus fruit in their diet, you could eliminate
scurvy. That seemed to be the only good reason for taking extra
Vitamin C until Albert Szent Gyorgyi and Linus Pauling did their
extensive research and found it to be a cell detoxifier, cancer
fighter, immune booster and chronic illness fighter. Linus
Pauling took an average of 19,000mg of Vitamin C per day and
lived happily until the age of 92.
Now the fight wages on over which brand of Vitamin C
supplementation people should take to get adequately high doses
of this papacea for good health. Synthetic brands are offered by
the thousands. Ascorbic acid in powdered form has been a very
popular choice among health care professionals. Super Green
Foods have moved up to the top of the list as well. These are
certainly a lot of choices. So I decided to do what I do best,
investigate Eastern Cultures as well as Indigenous Cultures from
South America. Where have they been getting their high sources
of Vitamin C for the last 5,000 years? From berries. All over
the world berry trees have been providing the highest
concentration of Vitamin C known to man.
The Amazon Rainforest grow a berry called Camu, which has the
highest concentration of natural Vitamin C. It thrives in lush
soil, flooded by the Amazon basin. What has been noticed is that
people taking this produce on a daily basis not only receive the
benefits of Vitamin C we described earlier in this article but
also noticed considerable changes in their energy levels.
Another advantage with this high concentration is an increase in
Serotonin levels which, as you know, increases your feeling of
happiness and joy. So we have found a mood stabilizer as well.
This product I know you will feel good about taking and it will
return many health benefits to you and your family. Just think,
no more sad, low-energy days during the winter. Plus, it helps
protects from colds and flu. I hope you will enjoy this
rainforest product as much as I do.
