| While on vacation visiting my new
grandson, I noticed my son and daughter-in-law cooking with
Teflon pans. This reminded me of a decision our family made 25
years ago to only cook with iron skillets and stainless steel
pans. Even back then research suggested this coating could be
carcinogenic. Today the EPA has urged companies to ban the use
of Perfluorooctonoic Acid, a chemical used in making Teflon.
Individual research and testing suggests Teflon is a carcinogen.
Risk factors include various cancers involving the liver,
pancreas, testicles and breasts. These chemicals also have an
effect on hormones as well as the immune and nervous systems.
Cooking in safe pans with healthy, organic oils is the first
step to recovering good health. To overlook this aspect as
incidental or too costly to replace with non-carcinogenic
cookware, is merely being foolish, or lazy, or both. Please
remember, you have control over you and your families health.
Please choose wisely.
