There was an interesting
article in the weekend Waukesha Freeman that had me
shaking
my head. The headline read, “FDA: Once Medicines are on the
Market, Drug
Companies
Ignore Required Studies“. What’s wrong with this picture. The
FDA is
allowing
toxic drugs to be sold to the public before their final test
results are in and
approved!
Some companies had yet to begin their promised studies and yet
these drugs
were
on the market.
The FDA said in its annual report that as of September
30, 2005, 65% of the drug
studies
were still pending…65 percent? Are you kidding me? Have I just
been x’d? Think
about
the implications of what this means to your family. If you are
using drugs to mask
a
symptom, there is more than a 50% chance they have not been
thoroughly tested or
approved
by the FDA. This tells me the drug testing system is broken with
little chance
for
repair. How many times have you or a family member trusted the
AMA to do the
right
thing by giving you a safe, effective and approved drug. Most of
you know my
position
on these dangerous drugs (over 1 million people per year are
either killed or
injured
by over the counter drugs) so I implore you to reconsider before
you decide on a
treatment
of choice for any illness or dis-ease process.
First-Is it safe?
Second-Has it been thoroughly tested?
Third-Does it have any side effects?
If you say no to all three, I believe you
